A Home Condition Survey can be carried out by a Chartered Building Surveyor or a Home Inspector.  The surveys are straight forward and suitable for relatively modern houses where no major problems are anticipated.  If your building is of a more traditional construction, very old or you believe there may be major problems then you may wish to consider a more comprehensive Building Survey carried out by a Chartered Surveyor.  A Home Condition Survey does not normally include a Valuation.

A Home Condition Survey is a condition report that is produced by a Home Inspector who will be a member of an Accreditation Scheme run either by SAVA or The BRE.  All surveys are lodged with the accreditation schemes which operate a quality assurance regime to provide additional consumer protection and confidence.

The RICS version of a Home Condition Survey is called a RICS Condition Report.  Chartered Surveyors who are members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors need to be licenced to produce this report.

The Home Condition Survey is produced in a standard format and applies ‘condition ratings’ to the various parts of the building and is designed to be easily understood by the purchaser.

Completing the form above will instantly give you a set of estimates for Home Condition Surveys directly from a number of suppliers local to you.  You will be given their contact details and they will receive yours.  You can then contact each other quickly and efficiently.  There is no middle man involved and the prices tend to be very competitive.  Before selecting a possible supplier you should ensure that they have satisfactory qualifications, accreditation, experience and insurance to provide the service you require.

If you are unsure which type of survey is best for your requirements please click on advice on the differences between surveys for more information.

What do our Customers say about our Suppliers?

All of the people who request an estimate from our website are asked to provide feedback on the Local Conveyancing Direct website, and also on the Supplier they chose.  These are some of their comments:

The service provided by the website was very prompt and efficient, 3 of the 4 potential suppliers you provided contacted me the same day offering their services. I went with the offer from Energy Performance Matters Ltd, who visited my property on the same day the order was given. Mr. Bibby was very professional and talked me through the stages of the EPC. My EPC was forwarded to me the following day.

The website worked well. I chose Julian Amery. The work has now been carried out and was satisfactory.
Peter, Haytor Vale, Devon
The website was easy and quick to use. I had received phone calls from two of the surveyors listed within ten minutes of running the search. Andrew Bell undertook the EPC for us within a couple of days and we were pleased with the completed work.

The web site was o.k. I followed up by placing an order with BLC Property Services, and they did the job satisfactorily.
