Professionalism :  I would use Philip if my plans were to be realised in the future however after meeting with Philip and subsequently meeting with a planning consultant,arranged by Philip, all parties were of the opinion that a positive conclusion would not be forthcoming as my proposed development was of significant importance to the Greenbelt. I was not charged by Philip or the planning consultant . Both gave me an indication of what their charges would be if I was to proceed and both indicated they would be in contact if circumstances were to change. The level of service by both was excellent and for that reason I would use and recommend both.

We first contacted Phil Kirk in January 2010 to discuss the possiblility of extending a 1960's characterless bungalow that we were purchasing on a sizeable plot. Phil was quick to grasp our ideas but also willing to offer advice and design options we had not considered (including making sure that the finished house didnt have that extended look!). Most importantly, his patience has proved invaluable as we worked through lots of iterations before finalliy setlling on a design as we kept on changing our minds! Once planning was submitted Phil doggedly chased the Council to get the planning decision. He was also swift in providing us with full construction drawings (pre - planning approval) and providing all the detail needed to enable us to tender the job to several building companies to ensure we could commence work as soon as planning was approved. Since work on our home started he has been in regular touch with the builders - his work has not just ended with the plans submitted. Considerations for future projects Building regs phase seemed to take longer than anticipated, in part because we were thinking too far ahead at detailed specification level, whereas we now understand that this is not relevant to the building regs process. This seemed to result in confusion on our side, and some frustration for you. Maybe a face to face meeting at that stage would have helped resolve this issue quicker than bouncing emails and calls, and enable the application to be submitted sooner. The building regs application itself stalled as Cheshire East had sent an internal memo to Stockport council recommending approval, but this was not acted upon until I phoned them up myself. That said I understand that this is more of a bandwidth issue at the council rather than a reflection of the work made by yourself, but maybe something to watch for on future projects

Again, overall we were very satisfied with your efforts and the successful outcome of this phase of the project.
