At Chiltern Utility Solutions, we love to help clients upgrade their buildings to a higher environmental standard - whether it be through upgrading insulation, lighting, or HVAC, installing on site solar power, or cutting water use with more efficient toilets and taps.
Tighter requirements for Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) are on their way, probably to an EPC rating of D in 2025, and B or C between 2028 and 2030.
We would always encourage clients to upgrade as much as they reasonably can at any change of tenant or before a building sale so as to retain MEES compliance through these changes if at all possible.
